Extra Steps for Boys
Little girls tend to be easier to potty train; after all, they just need to sit and do their business. Boys can be a bit trickier since you will eventually need to teach them to pee standing up.
Most little boys will start potty training by sitting, but natural curiosity may leave them wanting to try standing sooner than you realize, especially if they see Daddy or big brother standing. Let your little boy watch and learn a few tips from them.
When you are ready to start teaching your son to pee standing up, you may want to try some target practice. Some parents find success with Cheerios in the kiddy toilet bowl. A little bit of food coloring can also be fun as they watch their pee change color as it mixes together.
