Know that You Can’t Force It
While most parents start the process of potty training between 18 and 30 months, it’s important to know that you can’t force it to happen if your child isn’t ready. For some, it seems to take no effort at all, but some kids can’t seem to get the hang of it.
There are just some things you can’t teach your child when it comes to using the toilet. You can explain the entire process to them, but you can’t teach them what it feels like when they have to go. If they can’t understand that part, they will continue to have accidents without understanding why.
Some children just seem content to have their diapers changed rather than use the potty; other kids are just too busy with their play time activities to stop and use the toilet. Whatever the reason, you may just need to wait a little longer and try again.
