Take a Moment to Breathe
Mothers are often pressured to love their children 24/7, and while you may never actually NOT love your child, there will be days that are harder to FEEL love than others. After a full day of screaming and diaper blowouts, it’s easy to start feeling like you want to scream or just run away altogether.
It is very easy to feel guilty when you have these feelings (and you will have them). DON’T. Unless you are suffering from severe postpartum depression, you know that you truly love your baby and would never actually abandon them, no matter how tempting the thought may be sometimes.
In these moments, you just need to breathe. Ask someone else to take care of the baby for a few minutes while you take in some fresh air or go on a short stroll baby-free. You will find that these short moments of reprieve are enough to refresh you and have you ready to love on your little one again.
