Practice Plenty of Tummy Time
Tummy time can also be a great way for you to get a break from holding your little one as well as give your baby the exercise they need to grow stronger neck and back muscles.
There is no time that is really too early to start tummy time. You just need to be sure that you offer the proper support for the stage your child is at. Start by laying them on your chest and talking to them. This will give them motivation to lift their head to look at you.
You can also prop them up on a firm pillow or Boppy on the floor so they can look at a mirror or some toys. Just be sure that tummy time is ALWAYS supervised. Even turning your back for a moment is enough time for your baby to roll off the pillow and get hurt or suffocate in a pillow or blanket because they aren’t strong enough to lift their head yet.
