Accept that There will be No Routine
There are few things better than the moment you actually have an established routine with your baby. You now when they eat and sleep, and you are able to plan your own personal obligations around your baby’s habits.
However, it is crucial that you know there will be no routine within the first 3 months after birth. In fact, routines aren’t entirely common until a baby is at least 6 months old. There may be some sort of rhythm to your day, but there will be no established routine for a while.
Instead, this time should be used to get used to your baby’s habits, building trust with them as you respond to their needs as they call for you. Just go with the flow as you work toward the eventual routine that will define your days.
